Meng Qiliang, the Vice Governor, welcomed George •Smoot and briefly introduced the provincial situation of Guizhou as a government representative on 15th of June, 2014. He said Guizhou is a beautiful and rich national culture province with a unique mineral, energy and tourism resources. However, after the completion of the project called radio telescope (FAST) with Pingtang 500 m single aperture, it will attract more and more foreign astronomers and enthusiasts to Guizhou for visiting, investigating amd travelling. The Guizhou visit and investigation of Professor will help promote the construction of the project, to take this opportunity; we are also committed to construct the project well for the counterparts of world astronomical community.

       George •Smoot also said the completion of the project called radio telescope (FAST) with Pingtang 500 m single aperture will promote the development of scientific research, tourism and other aspects in Guizhou. We hope he can have more in-depth understanding of Guizhou through his investigation, and look forward to further exchanges and cooperation in the future.
