   In 2006, George Smoot was awarded 2006 Nobel Prize in Physics in for "the discovery of the blackbody form and anisotropy of the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE)". This finding is considered to be the powerful evidence of universe from the big bang.

   Renowned scientist, Stephen Hawking, commented that Dr. George • Smoot’s research on COBE projects is called the most important scientific achievement in the 20th century. In this respect, Dr. Smoot is known not only as a discoverer of God who created the universe but as the "Father of the Universe Embryology".

   Dr. Smoot was born in 1945 in Florida. He has received Bachelor's degrees in mathematics and physics in 1966 and Ph.D. in physics in 1970 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a professor of physics at the University of California, Berkeley and a senior scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, but also he was appointed as a professor of physics at Paris Diderot University, France in 2010.
